First Official Handover Of Sashes

 

On Tuesday 3 November 2015 was the first official hand over of sashes in conjunction with Imperial Road Safety at Voorspoed Primary School

 

The Let's Play Challenge Finals

 

On Thursday 5th November was the Let’s Play Physed Challenge Finals, as well as Let’s Plays 10th Birthday! Well done to Riverview Primary School (Western Cape) for winning the Let’s Play Physed Challenge!!! They will be receiving the R1.2 Million Multi Purpose Sporting Facility donated by The Sports Trust. 2nd place went to Laerskool Rustenburg (North West)  & in 3rd place was Rosendal Primary School (Northern Cape). The 9 schools gave it their all and the excitement was felt and seen on Super Sport live from all 9 Provinces! A huge thank you to all the Sponsors that were involved in the Challenge – Steers, 32GI, Futurelife, New Media, ETA, The Sports Trust, Multichoice, Unicef, Department Of Basic Education, Department Of Sports & Recreation South Africa, Physical Education Institute Of South Africa & Hitachi.

Mail and Guardian Investing in the Future & Drivers of Change Awards

 

WE WON!!!!!

I am  writing this to thank you for all your support over the years. As you may have been aware this year, Active Education along with Supersports Lets Play implemented and ran the Physical Education Challenge.The challenge targeted the grade 4 learners aged between 10 and 11.The objective was to see how many learners could complete an obstacle course, consisting of physical education exercises, in 45minutes (the length of a physical education period)Over 440 000 learners were interacted with and over 36 000 participated in the challenge.The learners were participating for a R1,2 million sports court donated by the sports trust.As a result of this success, the physical education challenge  was nominated for an award in the “Mail and Guardian Investing in the future & drivers of change awards” we were nominated in Investing in the youth development category.On the 29th October it was announced that the Challenge had won the award.I am very proud of my team for this achievement and wanted to share with you our success, because if it wasn’t for such forward thinking individuals like yourselves, Active Education would not be where it is today.Congrats again to my team AWESOME!

ABI Indigenous Games Finals

 

A big thank you to ABI for the opportunity of being involved in the Indigenous Games. The 20th October 2015 was the Finals! The top 15 schools in the Province competed. Congratulations to Job Maseko Primary School for winning 1st place! 2nd place went to Makgethe Primary School & 3rd place went to Kaalfontein Primary School. Well done to all the teams that participated you all did very well!

 

Head Coach Weekend

 

We took all of our head coaches to WagonDrift Game Lodge for the Head Coaches Weekend. We did some leadership and responsibility training with them. We also had great fun doing some orienteering in the bush with game all around and even shooting paintballs blindfolded with our team members directing us where to shoot.

 

Baby Car Seat Collections 2015

 

In Cape Town during Transport month (October 2015) The car seats for kids campaign encourages the donation of car seats by the public. They are restored, safety checked and redistributed. Standard Bank Annual Family Day 2015

 

We had a wonderful opportunity to assist & provide entertainment at the Annual Standard Bank Family Day this past weekend (5 & 6 September 2015). We provided child minders, fun party games, creative arts & crafts such as Tye Dyeing t-shirts, minute to win it games, inflatable paint ball, water treading balls & face painting. So much fun was had by all! Thank you 24 Carrots for this opportunity again.

 

Nelson Mandela Day 2015

 

For Madiba Day 18 July 2015 we headed off to Nelson Mandela’s Birth Place in Qunu in the Eastern Cape. A lot was happening at The Nelson Mandela Museum. To start the day off there was a 6.7 Km’s Fun Run with Let’s Play  for all the local Children. Once all the runners made it back to the Museum the fun really started! We had Obstacle Courses set out for the Children. There was also tennis being played and even boxing! The children had a blast and were kept busy.
